Jessica and John Hannigan make the connections between Visible Learning and the most popular behavior initiatives implemented across the globe: Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Character Education, Restorative Justice (RJ), Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT), Trauma Informed Practices (TIPs), and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL). This webinar will describe for school and district personnel how to “build” behavior initiative(s) best suited for their institution using evidence-based best practices aligned to Hattie’s identified influences on student achievement.

The webinar is designed to:

  • Help educators understand the reasons behind implementing each of the behavior initiatives and guide them in “building” effective behavior systems (i.e., selection, implementation, progress monitoring, and continuous improvement),
  • Provide common definitions, frameworks, best practice resources, implementation tips, and identify the relationship of the key factors of each of the six behavior initiatives to John Hattie’s Visible Learning work
  • Demonstrate how to use what the Hannigans call the School-Wide Behavior Initiatives Process (SW-BIP) to select, self-assess, and “build” an application guide for effective implementation of one or a combination of the six behavior initiatives
